When we started selling Harvest Right freeze-dryers, we were confused by the different types of vacuum pump available.
Over the years, they’ve simplified things a little. Two pump models are currently available for the purchase of a new domestic freeze-dryer. These are the industrial-grade Premier oil vacuum pump and the oil-free vacuum pump.
However, if you bought your home freeze-dryer years ago and have a standard oil vacuum pump, you can always buy a new one when the old one reaches the end of its life. You can also buy reconditioned Premier oil vacuum pumps when they are available. The oil-free vacuum pump can be rebuilt when it reaches the end of its life, saving you a lot of money compared to buying a new one.
