Oil changes
This new Premier Pump rarely requires oil change or filtration. The pump features a gas ballast function that prevents water from remaining in the oil. As a result, the oil in the pump remains pure and clear, even after 30 or more batches. You simply won’t need to change the oil until you’ve completed 20 or more batches. Whereas the oil in the Standard Vacuum Pump must be changed and filtered every 4 or 5 batches (when using the new 3/8″ vacuum hose). You should only replace the oil in this pump with high-quality Robinair Premium or JB Industries Black Gold vacuum pump oil. Do not use Dairyland vacuum pump oil in the Premier pump.
Vacuum pressure
Under both cold and warm conditions, the Premier Pump will reach a deeper vacuum than the Standard Pump. Under cold conditions, the difference is 0.05 Pascal for the Premier Pump and 0.08 Pascal for the Standard Pump. In warm conditions, however, the difference is much greater: 0.05 Pascal for the Premier Pump and 2.05 Pascal for the Standard Pump.
As a result, the Premier Pump is not particularly affected by warm ambient conditions. When temperatures rise, it will achieve a much better vacuum than the Standard Pump. The Premier Pump is simply unaffected by outside heat. It achieves the same deep vacuum even in a warm environment.
Sound level
The Premier Pump is significantly quieter than the Standard Pump, at 52 decibels versus 64 decibels. The 52-decibel Industrial Pump is about as noisy as a refrigerator.
Oil mist filter
Both pumps are supplied with an oil mist filter. However, the Premier Pump’s filter allows no oil spraying at all and will last much longer.
Energy consumption
The Premier Pump consumes less energy than the Standard Pump (187 watts vs. 218 watts).
Amperage
In hot conditions at ultimate vacuum pressure, the Standard Pump uses 2.1 amps, while the Premier Pump uses only 1.7 amps. As a result, the Premier Pump is more efficient.
Weight
The Premier Pump is easier to move, weighing around 2.3 kg less than the Standard Pump (approx. 14.5 kg vs. approx. 16.8 kg).
Service life
The Premier Pump is more durable and will last longer than the Standard Pump.
